- girls night out -

date : 20 may 2005 (friday)
time : 2130 - 0300 (21may2005)
location : sutherland building, ikon, envy, jesmond
actors : eme, jen, lena, lyn, may, ren, winter

in between the hours of 1400 and 1700, all bvc students were struggling thru their final paper for the MCTs... civil litigation and civil evidence. after the paper was over, a group of msian bvc students plus one bruneian headed over to mcds for some refuelling. during which, plans were made for the night. in one corner were a group intending to have a girls night out... in another corner was another group planning to watch star wars... no prizes as to who won. [^.^]

scene 1 : 2130 - jesmond?
winter rushes outta her house to catch the metro to west jesmond to meet jen and to leave her overnight bag at jen's house. manages to get to the metro station just in time as the metro pulls in. hops on and grabs a seat. in between the stops of gateshead stadium and gateshead, winter's phone rings. jian calls to ask if she was arriving at west jesmond. in between the stops of monument and haymarket, winter's phone rings again. ren calls to postpone the time to meet at drill hall to 2245. passing thru haymarket, winter calls jian to inform that she'll be arriving soon. and upon arrival at west jesmond, winter calls jian again to find out on which side of the metro station should she wait. winter crosses the overhead bridge to the other side and begins her wait when her phone rings yet again. ren calls to ask if winter could tell jen about the postponement.

after the arrival of another two trains, winter was approached by a guy enquiring on how to get to osbourne road. lucky for him, jen's house was on osbourne road and so winter tells him that she doesn't know but her frens who are coming to pick her up will know. and so he and his fren waits with winter. after awhile, azzy, jen and jian shows up. winter mentions about the guy wanting to get to osbourne road and azzy directs them, after which, all got on board the metro towards haymarket. oh, and btw... whilst waiting for the metro to arrive, winter finally solves the puzzle that was bothering her all day... azzy shaved off his moustache!!! azzy looks younger!!! [>.<]

scene 2 : 2215 - sutherland building
arriving at haymarket, azzy, jen, jian and winter were really early and instead of waiting at drill hall where there's no place to sit and wait, they proceeded down towards sutherland building. and while waiting, a guy approached azzy and jian asking if they were law students and if he could get help from the student law office. he then continued to tell them his problems while jen and winter went off to take some pics... the guy finally left after some time...

after awhile, lyn and may arrives at sutherland and more pictures were taken...

clockwise from l-r : the church opposite sutherland building looks really creepy at night; the street towards northumberland road; and the other way towards camden court; winter, jian, jen, lyn, may, azzy posing!

jen, winter and lyn seating outside sutherland building.

finally after a rather long wait, eme and lena arrives with the news that ren was going to be late and will meet us at ikon and so all proceeded towards ikon. along the way, starving azzy and jian departs for subway with winter's topshop bag. both guys being manly and embarrassed to be seen carrying a girly bag!!! how they made it back home with the bag i do not know. i wished i had a piccy of them carrying the bag!!! [>.<]

scene 3 : 23++ - outside ikon
all decided to wait until ren arrives before heading in...

and they waited...

and waited...

waited... [=.='']

and finally ren arrives in a cab!

and the girls proceeded into ikon. entrance fees - £5, no student discount. [-.-'']

scene 4 : ikon
extremely loud trance music... loadsa people... random flickering bright lights... bouncy castle... and BUBBLES!!! (uh-huh... BOUNCY CASTLE AND BUBBLES)

eme gets into the mood... jiggying away to the music whilst lena, lyn and ren? or was it may? goes to deposit their coats at the coat room. when they return, all proceed hand in hand to the dance floor.. and the dancing begins!!!

(note : winter does NOT know how to dance... has two left feet!!!)

(note again : eme dances HOT!!! sizzle... ouch!!! HOTTT!!!)

lena and ren leave the dance floor to buy drinks... and while they were gone, the others started asking if they should leave ikon and head over next door to envy where it was r&b night. when lena and ren return, and after dancing a lil' more... all proceeded off the dance floor, outta ikon and into envy. entrance fees - £3.50 with NUS card.

scene 5 : 0017 - envy
r&b... and eme sashays away again!!! more dancing... and this time, the girls attract a couple of guys. a local tried dancing with the girls only to get no interest. the more he comes closer, the closer the circle the girls were dancing in gets. *lol* unfortunately, he doesn't get the hint and he continues to try thruout the night... (don't u guys ever get the hint??? especially when u come near, the girls just stop dancing and looks away???)

and they danced...

and danced...

and ignored the 'flies'...

and ignored...

and danced...

until their body and feet started to ache...

by then it was almost 0200 and the girls began their exit as they had booked two taxis for 0215? (hard to get a taxi on friday night unless u book in advance)

scene 6 : 02++ - ourside dobsons bar

the girls waited for blueline taxis and when they finally arrived, nearly had to fight the locals for the taxis. the locals were trying to get on despite being told that the name for the taxis was lena. eme, lena and ren got into a taxi whilst jen, lyn, may and winter got on the other and it was homeward bound after a tired night out!

and the following are some pics that were taken in ikon/envy...

date : 06 may 2005 (friday)
time : 0830 - 1900
location : carlisle
actors : 27 lincoln's inn bvc students

[author's note : this kinda happened sometime ago... been busy preparing for my MCTs so i didn't have the time to pick the pics and edit and all... but now that MCTs are OVER, here it is!!!]

we had this lil' 'field trip' to carlisle... to visit the court there. it was a great experience... we got to meet some barristers and a few judges. sat in for a few cases... ooh! there was this one case that a couple of guys came in carrying MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS and they walked into the accused stand. and thruout the trial, we were kinda waiting to see if they would suddenly stand up and start playing!!! [^_^]
and my goodness... the amount of charges these guys had... and when the prosecutor was laying out the facts, i was thinking "and how many people were involved again?" it sounded as though there was a riot! what with climbing outta windows and hitting people with bottles... one moment here and the other moment there... [-.-"]

anywayz, apart from listening to several cases, we had lunch with the judges and barristers. lunch was typical finger food... err, mostly sandwiches. [=.=]
after lunch, we had to do some advocacy exercises in which we practised our bail applications in front of two judges. well, not all of us. and then, we had the treat of watching two barristers do the bail applications! and they did it ON THE SPOT! it was amazing... especially for the prosecutor... he got the brief, read thru it really quick and began his application there and then. *respect* [>.<]

after that, about 4pm, we all headed behind the courthouse to ku-ba. a public house which had fidel castro's potrait painted on the front of the building!!! and drinks were on lincoln's inn!!! *cheers* the judges and barristers came to join us too!!! [^_^]

(p/s : desperado tastes nice!!! but alcohol level... *ehehe*)

anywayz, managed to onli take a few photos... not allowed to take any in court so these were taken outside the court. enjoy! [>.<]

azzy... i asked him to take the pic of the courthouse and this was what he took... [-.-"]

and the bus trip back from carlisle... it was so darn noisy! guess alcohol makes people noisier... oh and it was stinking too... penny decided to smoke on the bus. err... hello? we're on a bus and we can't OPEN THE WINDOWS!
weng-o visited the on-board loo 3 times and we cheered each time he came out... don't ask me why. i don't know why either... just karl making us cheer! [>.<] and a few bangla guys were at the back of the bus singing... [^_^]

all in, i would say the trip was a success... was interesting and fun! we should have done one like that a long time ago!!!

anywayz, cheers to orla for organising it!

-lapin-

what the...

i'm in a state of absolute bewilderment. i'm puzzled.

why?

i just went to throw my rubbish into our wheelie bin at the back of the house.
i know i know, the wheelie bin is supposed to be in the front, not at the back... but it is behind becos, if we leave it out front, it gets stolen! and we have lost TWO wheelie bins edii...

so, anywayz... i was at the back and instead of being greeted by the usual sight of an empty wooden deck and wheelie bin, i saw...

a bicycle,

several pots...

AND

a rabbit hutch.

seriously, there is a rabbit hutch at the back of my house. complete with two fat furry brown bunnies!!!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

i've got bunnies at the back of my house here too!!! *grins*

[oh, and i just found out that the new additions to my backyard belongs to my landlord's sister-in-law's children...]

just nice... i was missing my bunnies back home... [>.<]
i miss bitbit, whom we found running on the road outside my house. bitbit, who, in the beginning, mana was worrying over whether he was carrying any diseases since his *ahem* balls are HUGE! bitbit, who captivated mana's heart as the most obedient bunny! seriously! he is!!! he only goes toilet at one spot, which is just by the drain, he doesn't dig up the soil, he doesn't nibble at mana's plants! oh gosh, i miss my horny bitbit... [^.^]

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
bitbit. he posed for this pic for me. seriously!

a few weeks after we adopted bitbit, at about midnight, mana was hanging the wet clothing up to dry at the back when she came rushing into the house calling for hana. mana was saying that there's a cat at the back, just behind the wooden fence we set up to keep bitbit away from the fence. we all ran out to scare the cat away... well, so-called cat... it was a cute, adorable... ruby!!! and so, a new addition to our family. bitbit went beserk! he had a companion!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
ruby.

add on a couple of months and lo and behold! first generation is born!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
beebee and ruru.

and then there were more.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
i dunno their names.

and more.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
eeee!!!

and finally...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
pongpong!!! isn't he absolutely adorable!??

unfortunately for me, all these babies were born while i was here in newcastle. a few months before i got home for summer hols, mana gave them all away... including ruby. she kept only bitbit... not surprising since bitbit was her fav, the others were just too notti... poo-ing all over the place and all. ruby was evil... when she was pregnant, instead of pulling her own fur to line the nest, she would pounce on poor bitbit and pull his out instead!!! poor darling bitbit actually tolerated it all...

but, mana got yet another white bunny as a companion for bitbit. baby white white. the petshop owner said bww was a female... that was in july. come october and mana mentioned to me, "oh, btw... bww is a MALE!!!" OMG!!! poor bitbit. stuck with another GUY! and from the latest news, it seems bww has been bullying bitbit. my poor old darling! nvm... looks like if bww keeps it up, mana's gonna be sending him away too!!! *ehehe*

but for now... i have two brown bunnies to play with at the back of my house!!! wheeeheee!!!!! [>.<]

p/s : i just went to close my window and now, rain is hitting my window like nobody's business!!! omg... lucky me!!!

fearing the mountains in the distance.

lemme ask one question...

how many of u was NOT shocked when u found out i was doing law?

no, seriously. tell me...
how many of u?

hmm... i'm guessing NONE. i'm betting ALL of u either laughed till u fell off ur chair and/or thought "WHAT!?! YOU!?! AHAHAHAHA!!! DO NOT KID ME!!!".

i don't blame u... sometimes when i sit down and think about what next, i just shock myself... i mean, seriously... look back at my primary school report cards and u'll see for 6 years, my 3 ambitions, NOT ONE ever stated "PEGUAM" (that's lawyer in malay). NOT ONE. even throughout secondary school... NEVER once did i ever consider LAW as an option. emphasis on NEVER!

hello!? i was never the one for public speaking... much less standing up in class and making a presentation. back in std 5 when i was prefect, (yes, i was a prefect!) i did my ultimate best to avoid having to go to the front of the ENTIRE school and raise the flag during assembly. even if it meant that the whole school could only see my BACK. i avoided debates, public speaking... anything that meant that i had to be in front of an audience who would watch/listen to me only. i hate being in the spotlight. i still do...

fast forward to the time just after spm when it was decision time... continue to rebel and insist on pursuing my dreams (which would just mean having to marry a rich old man so that he would pay for my studies) or abandoning my dreams and choose between either accounting or law. needless to say i chose the latter of both choices... why didn't i pick accounting? i mean, i was really good at maths... seriously, i was
G O O D. but somewhere along f4/f5... i hated accounts. so, acca was out. and i chose law... i wonder what on earth i was thinking when i made that decision... oh.

but then again, i scraped thru a-levels, earned my llb(hons) degree... and here i am suffering but am still alive doing the bvc... why didn't i marry a rich old man?

i mean, if i'm not meant to be in this line... i would have failed and dropped out a long time ago right? i guess one can do anything if u really put ur mind to it... sure, there are times when i just want to lift the white flag and just give up. and believe me, of late, it is the one thing i really want to do... but then, i think about the challenges i've been thru, all the hardship and all the sweat and the tears... and i tell myself, "just a lil' bit more and it'll all be over... i need to prove that i am capable of doing this! i'm going to make the people who doubted me, regret for ever doubting me. i will. i'm going to make it and prove them wrong." and i shall... no, i will. and now i'm going back to studying for civil. i've just talked myself outta quitting again. [>.<]

so, seriously, i wanna know... how many of you seriously doubted that i would get this far?

u once said to go to u when i need u. i need u. where are u?

oh ...PLEAS...e... help meee...

"where a defendant is standing mute, a jury must be empanelled to determine whether the defendant is mute of malice or mute by visitation of god."

huh? just to decide whether the defendant is remaining silent or he is seriously disabled a jury needs to be empanelled?!?!?! *swt* what a complete waste of time and resources. why can't the judge decide on this himself?!! why must a jury be selected just to decide on such a simple matter? *swt*

and what's with the "mute by visitation of god"!?!?! can't they just use SIMPLE AND UNDERSTANDABLE ENGLISH?!?

"where a finding of mute by visitation of god is made, the jury must then determine whether the defendant is under a disability and cannot be tried."

eh? *swt* 'nuff said.

"where a jury determines that a defendant does have a disability, a fresh jury will determine whether the defendant did the act or omission alleged."

*swt* empanel yet ANOTHER jury!?!?! 'nuff said.

note :
i'm cramming my head full of criminal procedure and criminal evidence for this MCQ i have on friday after which i have absolutely no use of. *sheesh*

now excuse me while i continue to eat archbold and m.s's evidence book in hopes of remembering EVERYTHING and to vomit them out again on friday. ta for now.

What a Modern Woman Wants

Just a little something to share.

This story was written by a 15 year old Singaporean girl, Amanda Chong Wei-Zhen, who competed against 16-18 year olds and emerged the top in the annual Commonwealth Essay Competition, a writing contest that had 5,300 entries from 52 countries.

What a Modern Woman Wants

The old woman sat in the backseat of the magenta convertible as it careened down the highway, clutching tightly to the plastic bag on her lap, afraid it may be kidnapped by the wind. She was not used to such speed, with trembling hands she pulled the seatbelt tighter but was careful not to touch the patent leather seats with her callused fingers, her daughter had warned her not to dirty it, "Fingerprints show very clearly on white, Ma."

Her daughter, Bee Choo, was driving and talking on her sleek silver mobile phone using big words the old woman could barely understand.
'Finance' 'Liquidation' 'Assets' 'Investments'... Her voice was crisp and important and had an unfamiliar lilt to it. Her Bee Choo sounded like one of those foreign girls on television. She was speaking in an American accent.

The old lady clucked her tongue in disapproval.

"I absolutely cannot have this. We have to sell!" Her daughter exclaimed agitatedly as she stepped on the accelerator; her perfectly manicured fingernails gripping onto the steering wheel in irritation.

"I can't DEAL with this anymore!" she yelled as she clicked the phone shut and hurled it angrily toward the backseat. The mobile phone hit the old woman on the forehead and nestled soundlessly into her lap. She calmly picked it up and handed it to her daughter.

"Sorry, Ma," she said, losing the American pretence and switching to Mandarin. "I have a big client in America. There have been a lot of problems." The old lady nodded knowingly. Her daughter was big and important.

Bee Choo stared at her mother from the rear view window, wondering what she was thinking. Her mother's wrinkled countenance always carried the same cryptic look. The phone began to ring again, an artificially cheerful digital tune, which broke the awkward silence.

"Hello, Beatrice! Yes, this is Elaine."
Elaine.
The old woman cringed. 'I didn't name her Elaine.' She remembered her daughter telling her, how an English name was very important for 'networking', Chinese ones being easily forgotten. "Oh no, I can't see you for lunch today. I have to take the ancient relic to the temple for her weird daily prayer ritual."

Ancient Relic. The old woman understood perfectly it was referring to her.

Her daughter always assumed that her mother's silence meant she did not comprehend.

"Yes, I know! My car seats will be reeking of joss sticks!"

The old woman pursed her lips tightly, her hands gripping her plastic bag in defence.

The car curved smoothly into the temple courtyard. It looked almost garish next to the dull sheen of the ageing temple's roof. The old woman got out of the back seat, and made her unhurried way to the main hall. Her daughter stepped out of the car in her business suit and stilettos and reapplied her lipstick as she made her brisk way to her mother's side.

"Ma, I'll wait outside. I have an important phone call to make," she said, not bothering to hide her disgust at the pungent fumes of incense.

The old lady hobbled into the temple hall and lit a joss stick, she knelt down solemnly and whispered her now familiar daily prayer to the Gods.

"Thank you God of the Sky, you have given my daughter luck all these years. Everything I prayed for, you have given her. She has everything a young woman in this world could possibly want. She has a big house with a swimming pool, a maid to help her, as she is too clumsy to sew or cook. Her love life has been blessed; she is engaged to a rich and handsome angmoh man. Her company is now the top financial firm and even men listen to what she says. She lives the perfect life. You have given her everything except happiness."

"I ask that the gods be merciful to her even if she has lost her roots while reaping the harvest of success. What you see is not true, she is a filial daughter to me. She gives me a room in her big house and provides well for me. She is rude to me only because I affect her happiness. A young woman does not want to be hindered by her old mother. It is my fault."

The old lady prayed so hard that tears welled up in her eyes. Finally, with her head bowed in reverence she planted the half-burnt joss stick into an urn of smouldering ashes. She bowed once more.

The old woman had been praying for her daughter for thirty-two years. When her stomach was round like a melon, she came to the temple and prayed that it was a son. Then the time was ripe and the baby slipped out of her womb, bawling and adorable with fat thighs and pink cheeks, but unmistakably, a girl. Her husband had kicked and punched her for producing a useless baby who could not work or carry the family name.

Still, the woman returned to the temple with her new-born girl tied to her waist in a sarong and prayed that her daughter would grow up and have everything she ever wanted. Her husband left her and she prayed that her daughter would never have to depend on a man. She prayed every day that her daughter would be a great woman, the woman that she, meek and uneducated, could never become.

A woman with 'nengkan'; the ability to do anything she set her mind to. A woman who commanded respect in the hearts of men. When she opened her mouth to speak, precious pearls would fall out and men would listen. She will not be like me, the woman prayed as she watched her daughter grow up and drift away from her, speaking a language she scarcely understood.

She watched her daughter transform from a quiet girl, to one who openly defied her, calling her 'laotu'; old-fashioned. She wanted her mother to be 'modern', a word so new there was no Chinese word for it. Now her daughter was too clever for her and the old woman wondered why she had prayed like that. The gods had been faithful to her persistent prayer, but the wealth and success that poured forth so richly had buried the girl's roots and now she stood, faceless, with no identity, bound to the soil of her ancestors by only a string of origami banknotes.

Her daughter had forgotten her mother's values. Her wants were so ephemeral; that of a modern woman. Power, Wealth, access to the best fashion boutiques, and yet her daughter had not found true happiness.

The old woman knew that you could find happiness with much less. When her daughter left the earth everything she had would count for nothing. People would look to her legacy and say that she was a great woman, but she would be forgotten once the wind blows over, like the ashes of burnt paper convertibles and mansions.

The old woman wished she could go back and erase all her big hopes and prayers for her daughter; now she had only one want: That her daughter be happy. She looked out of the temple gate. She saw her daughter speaking on the phone, her brow furrowed with anger and worry. Being at the top is not good, the woman thought, there is only one way to go from there - down.

The old woman carefully unfolded the plastic bag and spread out a packet of beehoon in front of the altar. Her daughter often mocked her for worshipping porcelain Gods. How could she pray to them so faithfully and expect pieces of ceramic to fly to her aid? But her daughter had her own gods too, idols of wealth, success and power that she was enslaved to and worshipped every day of her life. Every day was a quest for the idols, and the idols she worshipped counted for nothing in eternity. All the wants her daughter had would slowly suck the life out of her and leave her, an empty soulless shell at the altar.

The old lady watched her joss stick. The dull heat had left a teetering grey stem that was on the danger of collapsing.

Modern woman nowadays, the old lady sighed in resignation, as she bowed to the east one final time to end her ritual. Modern woman nowadays want so much that they lose their souls and wonder why they cannot find it.

Her joss stick disintegrated into a soft grey powder.

She met her daughter outside the temple, the same look of worry and frustration was etched on her daughter's face. An empty expression, as if she was ploughing through the soil of her wants looking for the one thing that would sow the seeds of happiness.

They climbed into the convertible in silence and her daughter drove along the highway, this time not as fast as she had done before.

"Ma," Bee Choo finally said. "I don't know how to put this. Mark and I have been talking about it and we plan to move out of the big house. The property market is good now, and we managed to get a buyer willing to pay seven million for it. We decided we'd prefer a cosier penthouse apartment instead. We found a perfect one in Orchard Road. Once we move in to our apartment we plan to get rid of the maid, so we can have more space to ourselves ..."

The old woman nodded knowingly.

Bee Choo swallowed hard.

"We'd get someone to come in to do the housework and we can eat out - but once the maid is gone, there won't be anyone to look after you. You will be awfully lonely at home and, besides that, the apartment is rather small. There won't be space. We thought about it for a long time, and we decided the best thing for you is if you moved to a Home. There's one near Hougang - it's a Christian home, a very nice one."

The old woman did not raise an eyebrow.

"I've been there, the matron is willing to take you in. It's beautiful with gardens and lots of old people to keep you company! I hardly have time for you, you'd be happier there."

"You'd be happier there, really." Her daughter repeated as if to affirm herself. This time the old woman had no plastic bag of food offerings to cling tightly to; she bit her lip and fastened her seat belt, as if it would protect her from a daughter who did not want her anymore. She sunk deep into the leather seat, letting her shoulders sag, and her fingers trace the white seat.

"Ma?" her daughter asked, searching the rear view window for her mother. "Is everything okay?"

What had to be done, had to be done.
"Yes," she said firmly, louder than she intended, "if it will make you happy," she added more quietly.

"It's for you, Ma! You'll be happier there. You can move there tomorrow, I already got the maid to pack your things." Elaine said triumphantly, mentally ticking yet another item off her agenda. "I knew everything would be fine."

Elaine smiled widely; she felt liberated. Perhaps getting rid of her mother would make her happier. She had thought about it. It seemed the only hindrance in her pursuit of happiness. She was happy now. She had everything a modern woman ever wanted; Money, Status, Career, Love, Power and now, Freedom, without her mother and her old-fashioned ways to weigh her down ...

Yes, she was free. Her phone buzzed urgently, she picked it up and read the message, still beaming from ear to ear. 'Stocks 10% increase!'

Yes, things were definitely beginning to look up for her...

And while searching for the meaning of life in the luminance of her hand phone screen, the old woman in the backseat became invisible, and she did not see the tears.

but determined not to let the weather dampen their adventurous spirits, they ventured further into the park and were greeted by this...

clockwise : healing area, colourful teepees, some stall, small stage, kids' fun area, another small stage.

... the park had been transformed into a carnival with a hippie-ish, rock concert, kinda feel!

after several minutes at the park, the wind lifted, the clouds parted, the mist drifted and the almighty sun came out in all his warming glory! *joy* it was so warm that winter, who had on 3 layers, had to remove the first outer layer whilst jian took off his red, hooded jacket. the people who were there at the park were also doing the same. in fact, looking around at the time, one will see almost EVERYONE "stripping"!!! [>.<]

random shots of the crowd.
yeaps, that's st. james park in the background.

there were various kinds of people there... ranging from the gypsy-ish to the weird-looking, funny-dressed people; from lil' babies in prams to the elderly. not only that, there were a LOT of dogs roaming around with their masters... in fact, there was this ONE dog which both winter and jian kept meeting...

further to that, the amount of people carrying either a glass of beer or a can of beer were amazing! add to that the amount of people smoking... not only cigarettes but also weed. [-.-"]
yeapz... there was that smelly grassy smokey smell~!!!

anyways, the beer started to tempt jian and he decided to begin his search for the stall that was selling the beer. whilst searching, they saw this stall...

top - bottom : get on a coloured lady, spun round and round and upside down too, and voila! a white young girl!!!

...ehehehe! winter dared jian to go play but unfortunately, jian refused... (probbly AFRAID he might turn into a chun chiq... *lol*). the ride costs £2 to play and it seems safe. the ride owner (the topless guy) would stop spinning u the moment ur hair comes free... in case ur hair gets stuck somewhere and ... u imagine what happens urself! [0.o]

both winter and jian venture away from the ride, still in search of the elusive beer stall, when they saw this...

clockwise : "i wish my camera would work", the wish tree, tying a wish on the wish tree, jian's wish, winter's wish, writing a wish.

... btw, the temperature had risen so much that by this time, winter had already removed her cardigan!!! PURRRFECT WEATHER!!!

resuming the search for the still elusive beer stall, they saw loads of weird and interesting stuff... breathed in lotsa second hand smoke... (weed) and heard various kinds of music... and still, true to the nature of stubborn men, jian refused to ask people where they had bought their beer from! by this time, winter and jian had explored so much of leazes park than they ever did before! eventually they came upon the general area of the main stage where 'rock' was playing and LOTSA people were sunbathing and the scenery was lovely!

and jian FINALLY found his beer... which costs £2.50 a pint and £2 a can. winter, in the adventurous mood, decided to get a pint too...

"it tastes like shandy!!!"

... but didn't finish even half a pint!!! [^.^]

somewhere about this time, omi and ren FINALLY decided to come and they called winter to tell her that they would be there in about an hour's time... [-.-"]

scene 4 : @ the lake
... having finished exploring the whole of the festival, jian and winter went to the lake to pass the time and enjoy the beer and the sun!

swans!!!

they did a lil' sunbathing...

... for almost an hour before azzy and jen arrived! and so did omi and ren! [-.-"]

ooh! and while they were there, they saw an empty baby pram roll into the lake, pushed by the slight breeze, and the father falling into the lake in his attempt to retrieve it.

scene 5 : still in leazes park
finally meeting azzy and jen at the gazebo... and also omi and ren, jian and winter began their i-forgot-how-many-round of the festival with them... [^.^]

and while azzy and jian went to buy beer and visit the wc... the girls decided to queue for ICE CREAM!!! when they bumped into...

ren, bad bear, jen

...bad bear! who was soo drunk that he could hardly stay in a spot! in addition... he's really HAMSAP! [.."]

thereafter... it was piccy-taking time... and by 7pm, they all went their separate ways... with omi and ren going home, while azzy, jen, jian and winter going for dinner.

BROKEN VOW

Sometimes, a moment would settle, hover and remain for much more than a moment...

... and somehow stop for much much more than a moment...

... and then the moment was gone...

... while memories remain for eternity.
