apparently our ashes can be used to make diamonds.
this company, LifeGem, takes the carbon from our ashes.
at least 250gms is needed to make high-quality diamonds.
the carbon is heated up at high heat until it turns into graphite.
the graphite is then 'pressed' until a large diamond crystal forms.
the whole process takes 18 weeks.
colour depends on the elements and impurities in the remains.
more than 50 one-carat diamonds can be made from one person.
a 0.20-carat diamond could cost US$2,499.
a 0.99-carat diamond could cost US$13,999.
*whoahhh*
