part 1 - the one with the parents

small talk : now let's see... where should i start? so many things have happened over the past month and they have all rolled into one big blur. some things i remember so very clearly, while there are others i just don't seem to remember very much. am i suffering from short term memory lost??! oh well... i'll make do with what i remember and what i don't remember, i'll let the pictures do the talking. enjoy the story... or whatever there is...

act 1 : 14 july 2005
i went to manchester to pick my parents' up at the airport. my goodness the journey down was freaky and BORING! freaky in the sense that there might be another bombing... i was taking the train down. and BORING cos it was well, just BORING! imagine 3 and a half hours train ride all alone!!! *yawn*

the train station was huge and for a moment... i felt completely lost and helpless. well, can't blame me.. i haven't been to manchester and everything just felt soo foreign! anyways, after a while of getting used to, i left the train station to roam the city and somehow managed to find chinatown and the city hall! no pics though...

thoughts : manchester is just too busy and big and dirty for my liking. newcastle still rules as no.1.

at the airport...

meena and deeda took ages to come outta the arrival hall. met blake and his family... as well as trevor and sheryl. they were on the same plane as my parents and yet they all came out before my parents. sheeesh....

feelings : kinda worried. wondering whether anything has gone wrong. kinda anxious. kinda happy they're finally here.

meena at the arrival hall at manchester airport; deeda & meena on train to newcastle; meena at park on princes' street, edinburgh; deeda.

act 2 : 15 july 2005
urgh... parents' were awake since 5am! took train to edinburgh... meena feeling kinda below the weather. and edinburgh was freaking cold!!! oops... meena didn't bring a proper warm jacket.

meena & deeda managed to catch the last march of the scotland royal guards... (i think that was what they were called) ... marching to the castle for the very last time as they were being assimilated into... err, forgot into where edi.

went to the castle... tickets cost about £9 per person, if i'm not mistaken. but before that... had to queue for about half an hour just for a security check cos they were afraid of bombs. by the time we got thru the security check it was one o'clock and the one o'clock gun went off like clockwork.

meena in front of monmeg - a huge cannon; meena with a lil' cannon; monmeg's cannon balls; deeda and monmeg

meena and a scotman with bagpipe; meena boxing the mean soldier; deeda at the entrance; deeda fascinated with the long huge sword

meena & deeda were lucky to witness a wedding that was being held at the chapel in the castle. and me and meena got a piccy with the driver of the bridal car!

meena & deeda in front of edinburgh castle; meena & i; random shots in castle

act 3 : 16 july 2005
took meena and deeda to tynemouth... and it was a lovely sunny day! bless the weather.

meena and the priory and castle in the background; the beach; the beachside again; meena & deeda with town in background

deeda was kinda fascinated with the ruins of the priory and the castle

this is the way to the lighthouse; meena; meena & deeda heading towards the lighthouse; meena & deeda watching people fishing

isn't the sky and the sea blue?; one day i wanna go sailing...

act 4 : 17 july 2005
"...and a lotta walking we shall do today"

i think meena woke up today with that thought in her head. we walked soooo much my feet was close to just giving up on carrying me any further. and to think that the past few days meena kept complaining about how much walking we were doing.

went to morrisons. meena kept questioning why i didn't take her to morrisons yesterday instead of tesco. main reason number 1 - morrisons is TOO FAR AWAY from my house. but, meena is crazy over morrisons. she's nuts.

went to jian's place to show my parents' how other houses looked like compared to mine. *grins* mine's the best larr...
then we took bus no.1 back to town and changed onto bus no.100 to metrocentre.

meena & deeda on the double-decker bus; at the square just outside eldon square; meena is fascinated with newcastle's taxis; another taxi company with the weirdest phone number... 444-4444

from metrocentre we went to have lunch at jasmine in chinatown.

deeda & meena & 2 locals in front of the arch; st james' park in the background; i forgot the name of the church; one of the streets in newcastle

meena & deeda at central station; we walked all the way back to gateshead...meena at ellison street; meena became an elephant; meena & fort?

but before reaching gateshead, we went from chinatown to the quayside.

meena & deeda and the swing bridge; the tuxedo princess; tyne bridge; me and the crown court - NO, the court ain't on fire; the sage - never fails to make me think of a caterpillar; millenium bridge

act 5 : 19 july 2005
meena & deeda left for malaysia today. i only sent them to central station where they took the train back down to manchester airport on their own.

thoughts and feelings : i miss them. couldn't stop crying when the train started to pull out of the station. 5 days of them is just too short. wished they stayed longer. there's still so much i want to show them... i miss meena and deeda.

thank u for comforting me that day when meena & deeda left. thank u randy. :)

IFLH announces Senator David Cain has joined its Board of Directors!!

IFLH volume trading is beginning to surge with landslide Announcement. The value of this
stock appears poised for growth! This one should not remain on the ground floor for long.

BREAKING NEWS!!
InterFinancial Holdings, Corp. (OTC Pink Sheets: IFLH - News) announced that they have added
David Cain to their board of directors. David Cain is currently the Chairman of the advisory
board to TTI (Texas Transportation Institute). Senator Cain represented Senate District 2 for
eight years in the Texas Senate and Chaired the Senate State Affairs Subcommittee on
Transportation and served nine terms in the Texas House of Representatives for District 107.

During his twelve years as Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, Senator Cains
efforts on behalf of the people of Texas have been widely recognized. He was named to Texas
Monthly Magazines list of Ten Best Legislators, the Dallas Morning News said he was one of
the outstanding legislators of the 73rd session, and the Texas Department of Transportation
awarded him the Russell H. Perry Award in 1995 for his efforts to gain public awareness of
the need for and benefits of transportation facilities in the State of Texas.

Jeffrey C. Bruteyn, Managing Director, stated, We at InterFinancial are proud to have such a
widely recognized Senator join our board and oversee out automotive lending division. His
affiliations and connections to the automotive industry will be invaluable to our company.
Senator Cain will be instrumental in expediting our approval to use a government issued Seller
Finance License.

Seller Finance Licenses are very difficult to obtain and are usually reserved for the Big Boys
with heavy lobbyists. These licenses are highly coveted because it allows the finance company
to collect the entire down payment, instead of paying a portion of it to the taxing authority.
This dramatically helps a finance companys bottom line if the buyer defaults on the loan.

With the new GPS tracking systems being installed on every car to dramatically improve
repossessions and with Senator Cain on the Board of Directors, InterFinancial Holdings
is ready to take their business to the next level.
